Your favorite team offense drill
This entry was posted on Friday, December 22, 2006 2:54 PM and is filed under Team offense.
Mike Hanscom was looking for a way to exchange drills, so I have started a series of posts in various areas (which should make them more searchable down the line).
If you have a favorite team offense drill you'd like to share, please leave a comment. Thanks!

I don't have one particular drill more than a style. As I am coaching 10U girls and since they are so young, I find it extremely beneficial to have stations set-up for the girls. The stations keep them moving and help prevent them from being bored. We had 13 girls on the team last year and I typically had 5-6 stations set-up for them. One could be the zipline, another hitting of the tee, another hitting a volleyball off the tee to learn to drive through the ball (OK, one of my favorites), another one with soft toss, other options such as having the bat across the shoulders with hands crossed to hold the bat and then hitting a ball off the tee, then one or two live pitching from the coaches. The key with the young girls is not to let them get bored and seperate the close friends from each other - if you don't they end up gabbing all of the time rather than practicing the drill.
